Try on haul video transcript:

What is up YouTube fam?
I am Meredith.
Welcome back to my channel today.
I am going to be starting a new series called Closet Cleanout.
I have so much stuff in my closet, too much stuff in my closet, stuff that I just need
to get rid of.
I want to do a huge purge so that way I feel lighter and lifted and I can also donate a
bunch of stuff that I don't currently wear.
A quick word from our sponsors.
Kokolu sent me some new sneakers that I'm about to unbox with you and a very, very cool
color tote, which I plan on using as a beach bag.
Let me quickly go ahead and unbox these with you guys so then I can tell you a little bit
more about the brand.
I am so excited to have partnered up with Kokolu and voila, these sneakers are so stinking
cute.
My favorite thing about these sneakers is the gold detail on the side and the sparkles.
Alright, so who is Kokolu and what do they do?
Kokolu is a sustainable lifestyle brand where they use plastic recycled bottles to make
their totes and their sneakers.
Obviously, with this neon orange color and all the other vibrant colors that they offer
in this daily eight tote, going green does not mean boring.
Not only do they just donate one dollar every purchase made, they also plant a tree.
For this daily eight tote, they take eight recycled plastic water bottles to make this
product.
You can use this bag in so many different ways.
I'm going to use it as a beach bag, hence my outfit, but you can also use it as a gym
bag.
You can use it as one of those reusable bags when you go to the grocery store.
It's super functional and the best part about it is you don't have to be careful getting
it dirty because you can throw these right into the washing machine.
Let me show you how functional these are because they can fit so much.
I'm going to show you guys all the things that I'm going to pack for my beach bag.
First up, my beach towel.
Next up, my book.
Next up, sunscreen.
Next up, water bottle.
Next up, my wallet, my phone, and my keys.
And there's still room to spare.
Alright, let's talk about the Comfort Nip super cool sneakers.
I use eight plastic water bottles to make these sneakers.
They're functional.
They are comfortable.
They are stylish, sustainable, and made out of recycled products.
They have a low carbon footprint.
They sculpt to your feet and the soles are made out of cornstarch and recycled foam.
I wanted to give you guys an idea on how I would style these Comfort Nip sneakers from
Coco Lu.
So I threw them on with a pair of loose fitting denim and a white t-shirt and called it a
day.
You don't even have to untie them to put them on.
Brilliant.
I will be sure to put the link for this bag and these sneakers in the description box
below.
Thank you so much, Coco Lu, and voila.
Y'all see this bin right here, right?
We're going to start with this bin.
This is swimwear.
I have no idea what's in this bin and on top of it, I've got two of these and an additional
box of swimwear.
I have so much swimwear, I don't even know what to do with myself.
We're going to go through this.
We're going to try everything on and we're going to only keep what we love.
That is the goal.
We're only keeping things that we love that fit well and that serve a purpose in my closet.
There is absolutely no reason in this entire world why I need so much swimwear.
I have obviously worked with a ton of brands that have sent me swimwear.
I don't even have enough days in the year to wear all the swimwear, okay?
With this closet clean out series, we are literally going to go through every piece
of clothing that I own, every shoe that I own.
Some of these guys haven't been worn in years.
It's time to get rid of a lot of stuff.
Real quick before we get started, if you guys are new here, I am Meredith.
I'm a mid-size and curvy content creator.
I do lots of try on hauls.
I do lots of lifestyle stuff.
I've just started to get into the vlogging world a little bit and it seems as though
you guys really like that as well.
The reason why I started creating this content was because I felt really underrepresented
as a size eight or 10.
I fall in between plus size category and straight size category and none of us in the middle
really get any love.
By that, I mean I don't get bookings for fashion shoots because of my size.
They're either looking for a size 14 or 16 or above that or a size zero, two, and four.
I'm an eight, 10 and it seems as though nobody wants to book me because of my size.
It's just not fair.
I also had an epiphany.
I grew up essentially having a tall, thin model as my representation.
I obviously hated myself because I was like, well, I don't look like that.
I have curves.
I have always had curves.
I remember in the seventh grade, I played on the varsity high school soccer team and
there was one day the team and I were all hanging out and there was a girl that came
up to my butt and started shaking my butt and she goes, do you realize your ass is so
big?
At that point in the seventh grade, I didn't know.
I don't know.
How old are you in the seventh grade?
Like 12 maybe?
I had no idea.
I didn't realize that that also gave me all the struggles with trying to dress my body.
There are so many stories that my mom and I could tell to you guys that I cried so many
times in the fitting room because I couldn't find pants that fit me.
I had to essentially wear a belt with everything, which I hated.
So I never wear belts anymore.
For reference, I am 5'7".
I have a 36 inch bust.
I wear a 34 D cup bra.
I've got a 29 inch waist.
I've got a 44 inch hip.
I usually wear a medium on the top and a medium on the bottom and pants are always an eight
or a 10 with lots of stretch.
Okay.
Really excited to start this closet clean out series.
This is episode number one of Meredith's closet clean out series.
Let's hop right into today's video.
Oh, well, this is one of my favorites from Tarte.
Absolutely 1000%.
I love this.
I love the color.
I love the fit.
Love the cups with this ruching detail.
Love the cut of the bathing suit bottom.
It fits the backside really nicely.
Let's see what else we got in here.
This is from Fredericks of Hollywood and it's all patent leather swimwear.
Oh my gosh.
You guys are going to love this.
Not sure where in America I would wear a swimsuit like this, but she's definitely a keeper.
Fredericks of Hollywood sent me a couple swimsuits.
I'll throw up a video of me trying them on right here.
I know that I'm going to keep all three of them that way you can see what they look like
on my body.
I'm obsessed.
Patent leather swim like I've never even heard or seen anything like it.
But it is just so sexy.
Definitely would not wear this in America, but would wear it on my international, probably
European travel.
Also love the patent wrap sarong.
So, so, so cute.
So cute.
And by cute, I mean sexy.
One, two, three.
Three keeps.
This swimsuit was sent to me by a brand called Poppy Lush.
I am utterly obsessed with it.
However, I've worn this and washed this so many times.
The coral color is starting to really fade.
I think that she needs to be replaced.
So we're going to put this in the donate pile and order a new one in the same color.
Now that I've begun this video, you guys, I didn't think that this was going to be so
hard.
Okay.
I love the cut of this bathing suit.
I think this is the cup she bathing suit.
If I'm not mistaken, don't quote me on that, but I'll leave all the links to everything
below.
But the bathing suit gives me a really, really bad wedgie.
She has no elastic around to the backside at all.
And I just don't love bathing suits that I have to constantly pick out my wedgies.
It's not fair.
So I'm on the fence about this one.
I think I'm going to put this in the maybe pile and make a decision later.
Okay.
Time out.
I need a 30 second timeout.
We're doing this video to make decisions.
We're making decisions.
We're not deciding later.
I'm going to put this in the get rid of pile.
Wait, are we supposed to donate swimsuits?
Maybe I should just try to recycle these somehow.
We're making a decision.
Am I going to wear this because I have to pick the wedgie?
No, I'm not going to wear this, but I love it.
We're going to get rid of it.
These are the hard decisions we have to make.
Recycle.
This is one of my favorite bikinis that I have.
It's from Tarjay.
It's neon and I feel like this is a really good swimsuit for sport activities.
So that way my bits and pieces are not going to fall out all over the place.
So if I'm doing like a water excursion or something on travels or if I'm like playing
beach volleyball, which I've never played, but if I were like, this would be the perfect
bathing suit because it's got a lot of compression.
The fit is really good.
It's wedgie proof.
Keeping.
I forget the name brand.
I think this is another cup sheet bathing suit.
Anyways, I'm going to pass on this one.
I can do better.
I have so many bathing suits that I'm going to have to just get rid of some that I'm not
absolutely in love with.
I love the patterns.
I love the colors.
I love the fit, but I think somebody else can love this a little bit more than me immediately
put this on and was like, no, I love the colors.
I love the pattern.
I don't necessarily love the neckline on me.
It doesn't hold me up enough.
I feel like it does have some compression, but just not as much as I would like.
I feel like this neckline just looks funny on me.
I think the fit is really good.
It's a great one piece for my type of body and my curves, but I'm going to have to pass.
This is going into the donation pile 1000% yes.
This is from my Nordstrom collaboration.
This is a thong bottom that I have never worn.
I don't know if you guys remember, but times are changing.
I'm going to be wearing that in public at a public beach.
Probably not America, but definitely going to wear this keeping up.
Never worn her before.
She's brand new.
Love.
Love.
Y'all may never guess where the swimsuit is from.
It's from Tarjay.
It's a brand new swimsuit for me.
I've never worn this before.
I cannot wait to wear this in Greece.
She's a little cheeky, but it's okay.
Europeans love the cheekiness.
Definitely going to be wearing this on my travels over there.
She's a keeper.
This swimsuit has a time and a place for sure.
I love the pattern.
It's definitely going to look better when I have a little bit of a tan because it's
kind of blending in with my skin right now, which freaks me out, but there's definitely
time and place.
She's a keeper.
Love this bikini.
Love the pattern.
Love the coloring.
Love the fit.
I feel really comfortable in this, which is super important when it comes to swim.
This is definitely a wedgie-proof bikini, and I feel like this is really appropriate
to be around my family or to go on a work trip.
This video is actually going to air after my work trip, but I'm going to the Cayman
Islands this week for work, and I feel like this is a really appropriate bathing suit
to bring when I'm going to be around my coworkers.
It's a safe bet.
Another reason why I'm also doing this is because I forget what I have.
This was at the bottom of this barrel.
She is so cute, and I completely forgot that I had her.
She is a little cheeky, and she feels like she's definitely going to give me a wedgie,
but I feel like she's too cute to give up.
Oh no, what am I supposed to do?
And she's pretty tight through the bust.
I don't know if you guys can see that or not.
These bitties are wanting to fall over the top, and it is a tiny bit tight in my arms.
Oh no.
Everything that I've just said out loud, I should get rid of her.
What am I supposed to do?
I did say that I would give myself a maybe pile, but I also told myself that I was going
to make decisions.
Yeah, she's already given me a wedgie.
Oh man.
Maybe she's supposed to be.
No.
Okay, she's being put in the maybe pile.
We'll decide at the end.
1000%.
Yes, for me, the cut, the color, the print, the style, everything.
I need not say more.
This is the first one that I put on, and I was like immediately no.
She's cute.
Yes, do I love her?
Absolutely not.
I mean, she's just kind of blah.
She's a plain neon green, which is my favorite color, of course, but I don't know.
I feel like she doesn't need to stay in my closet.
This might be the prettiest swimsuit I own.
She's just so pretty.
The floral print, the ruffles.
She's just so good.
She's so good.
She's so good.
She's so good.
I love everything about this swimsuit, except for one thing.
Because I have an average size torso, and this is probably actually meant to be worn
down here to alleviate that little puckering.
But because I like to wear mine above my hip, it just puckers ever so slightly.
But you know what?
Nobody's going to be paying attention to that, trust me.
You guys notice anything different about this bathing suit?
She is black or navy blue, one of the two.
But you guys know that I don't really love black, but she is so pretty.
I was contemplating even before I tried her on, I was like, no, I'm just going to get
rid of her because I really don't wear dark colors like this.
But I put her on and I was like, I have to keep her.
She's going to come to the Cayman Islands with me because she is a safe bathing suit.
Super pretty.
Fits perfectly.
Don't have to pick my wedgie.
Work trip!
I have this sort of one off fringe bikini bottom that I just threw on with the top that
I just had on.
I love her.
She's so unique.
The fit could not be more perfect.
However, I always keep things in my closet thinking like, oh, maybe I'll wear her if
there was ever a pool party or like beach party.
I don't think that I would wear this to the beach like on its own just to like go to the
beach for the day.
But if there was like a pool party or something, I feel like I need to keep this just for that.
But that's my problem.
That's why I have so many things in my closet.
It's because I think that there might be an event or something, an occasion to wear something
to.
And I'm like, am I ever going to wear this?
But there could be that one time.
I'm going to keep her.
Totally in love with this bikini set.
The skirt is attached or the sarong skirt is attached to the bottom, which I don't mind.
I just don't know if I love where it's draping on me.
Like, isn't it supposed to sort of like be like that?
I don't know.
It just feels like, like, look, and I just don't know if I love that.
I mean, it's really, really a hard decision for me to make.
But I think somebody who has less curves, less hips, not as wide hips as me, I think
that this might fit somebody a little bit better.
That makes me so sad.
I love her.
We have officially made it to the last swimsuit in this first box.
The rest of the stuff are cover ups and beach dresses and things of that nature.
We're going to make that episode two of Meredith's Closet Cleanout.
We're going to get to that next time.
This last suit makes me so happy.
It is brand new.
It still has the tags.
Never been worn before.
This is a Tarjay bathing suit.
You would probably never guess.
I think that I tried this on with you guys before.
I don't know if you remember, but I wasn't thrilled about bottoms.
I tried to order a size up.
It didn't work.
So we kept the mediums and I just think that she's not as high rise as I would like her
to be.
But we're going to make her work because the top is just one, two, three, four, five, six,
eight, nine, 10, 11, 12, 13, 14, and 15 keeps one, two, three, four, five, six, and six
cells.
I don't think that I can resell swim unless it hasn't been worn and a lot of these haven't
been worn.
So maybe I will sell some of them.
The ones that I have worn are probably just going to go to my mom and my sister, but everything
else for my closet clean out will be for sale.
OK, so that wraps up episode one from Meredith's Closet Cleanout.
I'm so excited to be starting this with you guys.
I really cannot wait to get rid of so much stuff, to sell a lot of stuff and to just
really make my life a little bit lighter and less heavy because I feel like I'm just overwhelmed
by all of the stuff that I have in my apartment.
I'm losing space.
I just need to get rid of a lot of stuff that I have.
And as always, please give this video a thumbs up, subscribe to my channel, hit that bell
to get notification for every time I upload a new video.
And if you want, you can hit that super thanks.
Thank you guys so much for coming along with me today and I'll see you on the next episode.
Bye!
